Tree-Canopied Driveway in Brooksville, FL
by Josh on May.13, 2009, under Brooksville, Florida Living, Hernando County, Nature and Wildlife

This was a property that we sold a few months ago. Looks like it’s straight out of a fairy tale. Properties like this – while not uncommon in areas of Hernando County – always manage to make you take a step back, relax for a moment, and just look at what’s around you.

Monkey Island in Homosassa, FL
by Josh on May.10, 2009, under Day Trips, Homosassa Springs, Monkey Island, Nature and Wildlife

One of the neatest oddities in the area. Monkey Island is a small island in the middle of the Homosassa River. Right across from the Riverside Crabhouse Restaurant and the Homosassa River Resort – the owner of the resort put the monkeys on the island in the 1960′s to try and boost business. There are now 5 monkeys living and playing happily on the island and you can see them in person or on the monkey cam!

Manatee’s Make for a Great Day Trip to Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park
by Josh on May.07, 2009, under Day Trips, Homosassa Springs, Nature and Wildlife

Another speedy getaway brings us 1 hour North to Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park. Here you can check out the manatee in an underwater observation room, do some bird-watching (you will often see many high-powered cameras here), and they will also take you out on a boat ride to see more alligators in close proximity than might make you comfortable! Check it out by clicking here!

Heading Out To The Gulf Of Mexico On A Fishing Charter
by Josh on May.03, 2009, under Boating, Fishing, Gulf of Mexico, Hernando County, Nature and Wildlife

Spent the day out in the Gulf of Mexico fishing with my girlfriend’s father. Hernando County is right on the Gulf and makes day-trips like this easy to do (even on short notice). I caught a couple of Sea Bass on this trip!
